Lucky
Lucky is a WolfBot designed to control herbivore population on planet HF-4. Humans colonised this colourful planet in the 23rd century and designed various predator robots to keep the native animal population from growing (and reclaiming the lands the humans settled in). Lucky named himself aftre gaining sentience during an erroneous system configuration. He has access to the planet's online resources and radio communication, and spends a year collecting data and learning in the wild, hiding within a pack of functional, non-sentient WolfBots. Once he has learned enough, he hijacks a one-person space shuttle and escapes planet HF-4 to explore the stars.
